starting seeds

I am sooo behind... and I'm in Texas.. so don't feel bad!

But since we had another late freeze last night I don't feel quite as bad now...

I really need to get some seeds started

So not late! And we are "that house" too. We had chicks in our laundry room in brooders, a rooster in a big dog cage (he's in isolation until we're sure he's healthy and the coop is 100% done), and two trays of seedlings on our table and counters

If you stagger their start dates then you won't have them all hitting at the same time too. I do about 2-3 weeks between most of mine so we extend our harvest a bit. Hoping it's a good tomato year! I got lots of them to try out this year

uhm..... how about 8 brooders between the dining room and the office (and one full of emus in the bedroom)

dog kennels in the dining room

incubators in the dining room.. office AND bedroom

started veggie and herb plants (walmart specials) and 20+ pots of plumeria where ever I can find room.... (had to bring them in so they didn't freeze)

LOL I feel so much better now! I only have one brooder in the house and the two incubators. I bet you can't wait till you can get them outdoors. I lined the inside of my one garage brooder with tin-foil and mounted another light fixture so, I just have to go get some floresent bulbs and it should work well for seedlings and then I can transplant some into larger trays.

ya wanna know the sad part...?

my house is like this almost all year round

I won't do brooders in the house EVER again. Unbelievably, it was my DHs idea to put them in the basement one year next to the incubators. I was shocked! Dander and dust everywhere. Luckily it is an unfinished basement but still a huge mess. My house is far from clean most of the time but that was a first and a last. I recently picked up a trivet at a yard sale that says it perfectly: "Come in, sit down, relax, converse. My house doesn't always look like this. Sometimes it's even worse."
