Starting staggered hatching adventure

So....is that the end?
Of this hatch, yes.

Of the hatching for this year. NOOOOOO......

Right now. I have 16 more Cornish eggs in the incubator.
  • 3 due 4/4
  • 5 due 4/11
  • 8 due 4/18
And, I'm thinking about getting some LF White Cornish as well.

I'm just glad this hatch didn't drag on for DAYS. I have until Sunday to clean up the Cheapo incubator. I'll probably set it back up on Saturday and get it good and ready for lockdown.

So 11 of the "fresher" dozen BC/CO eggs hatched? That's awesome!
sorry about the ones you lost.
Now to backup and check out that other thread you linked...
It is actually 10 of the fresher dozen. One of the 11 I put in lock down was an egg I got after I got the girls from you. Still, good numbers!

So, my 8 eggs that got cooled to room temp on Wednesday when we accidentally shut off the Brinsea are all still alive. I moved 3 into the lock down incubator yesterday and saw appropriate growth and air cells, and I saw movement in all 3. The 5 eggs that were on day 11 were nice and wiggly, practically the most wiggly eggs I've ever seen.

That is always so gratifying.

I set 19 eggs yesterday, most the eggs are too dark(Marans and Wellie sired OE) to even see the air cell. :barnie
At least the CCL eggs are candleable(is that a real word?).

I just went down to check on the incubator and I found that the humidity was 30% and the temp was 35.7C

I didn't check on the sponges last night and they were bone dry today. I quickly got them sopping wet with warm water and popped them in the incubator and noticed the heater in that room was off, pilot light and all. So I had to restart that and crank it up. The humidity is now in the upper 60s but the temp is taking a while to recover.

On the plus side, I have a pip!
