I'm just about done with my homemade incubator! I just have to put mesh wire over the light/thermostat/fan, test it, and then I will be ready for January, February, etc... I might wait until Spring, like around April. It depends on if my dad minds having chicks in the house during the winter.
This year we are planning on breeding our Amer./Cochin pullet, Oreo, with a Splash Cochin rooster. She has a pea comb and so will most likely lay colored eggs, like her mother. The chicks are going to be gorgeous!!!
This is an older picture of Oreo. She's sooo cute!!!! We've had a few requests for eggs/chicks that are similar to her, but aren't sure yet if we want to sell any just yet. But if you live anywhere in northern states, and are willing to drive, let me know in the Spring.
