hey guys i am umaid.
i am new to this forum and this is my first post :)
i started this post for some general info about doves

i had pigeons previously but then my interest dovelpoed in doves more than pigeons .i have decided to stop with pigeons and start breeding doves instead. my pigeons have started dirtying up the walls lately as they have found a spot to roost all day and cats are dancing around all day. i dont want my birds to be killed so instead i am moving to doves as they would be caged.

some questions
1. what are the breeding habits?
2. can they use the same nesting bowl like pigeons do?
3. can i feed them the same grit as pigeons?
4. in how many days to eggs hatch?
5. in how many days (in the wild) do the young leave the nests as i would set the young free in the same time period
6.are there some kind of mating calls or something?

Pigeons and Doves are fairly similar to each other. For the most part the pairing normally stays together until forcibly separated and they still lay a clutch of at least two. It takes about 14 days for a Dove egg to hatch. What breed are you looking for?
