cool! So I guess you saved him, lol. The most I can say is my horse was poorly trained and cared for because his owners were terrified of him, lol.Him, and not sure what breed but our vet thinks QH. His guess is Phoenix was turned out by or escaped his previous owner and joined the herd.

X10000000000000000!Your not hijacking!! This is interesting!!
yeah, pm me about it, and I'll tell ya the deal with jitterbug, lol. That's real sad, why get a horse if you're terrified of them?
On another note, that's great you rescued him! I love rescue horses!
Our Clydesdale girls were what I guess you'd say surprises - they tuned up at our barn in the middle of the night, together. It seems like they chose us.. then they were auctioned off, because of a stupid mistake my grandpa made, but we got them back.
The two Thoroughbreds were rescued from a hoarder. Her husband died and she couldn't support the upkeep of her barn or the horses. She was a reputable Thorughbred breeder before.
The Tennessee Walker is another story, if you want me to tell you I'll pm you about it, so I don't hijack this thread.
That's really awesome that you were able to get her back!Smokey came from the herd- again our vet thinks she was turned out by or escaped her previous owner. My grandpa didn't want another horse at the time - 5 was enough, so he placed 'found' ads in the paper. Apparently this guy from a town close to us wanted a Tennessee Walker to sell at the auction (around here Tennessee Walkers are "the" breed to have, so that guy would of gotten a pretty penny for her.), so he called us and said he was Smokey's owner. He came to get her the next morning. Smokey hesitated as he loaded her up the trailer ramp. And then they drove off. On Saturday we went to the auction, the one Smokey was going to be sold at. I had had a bad feeling about the man, and a $850 stuck in my pocket (we're not rich, it's from my job). As soon as Smokey came out everybody started offering.. The only person who could go over $850 thought he'd got the horse, but then Grampa handed me a hundred dollar bill..
