I've learned most people don't understand how to have a happy goat...

My goats appear to be happy. Let's...all the acorns, hay, shrubs and ornamentals they can eat. Things to jump on, room to run...old chicken coop to get out of bleepin' snow...FROZEN water! GAH!

We do it 10 secs top on each horn, or until a copper ring appear, then we remove the cap and redo it again to make sure we won't have to go through that process again. How you ever own a goat? Not a lot of people look into a "problem" before they attempt to take action:

Why we ship:
- To get virtually any breed to virtually any location (within country limits)
- Without it, most breeders would go out of business due to lack of customers
- Most local farm stores wont be able to get chicks of their own
~ It's safe because most breeders box it well, the chicks have yolks to digest for the next 72 hours, it's takes no longer then 72 hours to arrive, and mail services are forced to take good care of the box

Why they hate it:
- They claim they are forced to go without food or water for up to 72 hours
- They claim they are pushed around inside the box almost contently
- They claim it's they are too cold inside the box
- They claim it's cruel to ship males as packing peanuts (which they do that, but only in some small-medium orders, and it's not cruel at all, at least considering what a lot of local and commercial farmers do to their males)

Without shipping, small egg farmers who raise specialty or rare breeds like I do, it would be impossible to get the genetic variety to maintain healthy and productive flocks within those respective breeds! We all, including Large hatcheries need that 72 hour window to be able to ship safely with minimal discomfort to those chicks or hatching eggs!
Obviously who ever has endorsed this is NOT a poultry farmer and knows nothing about these birds or how a farm works. They also have Not considered, with all the saving of those "poor poultry" that WE the small farmer without the ability to maintain healthy and diverse flocks, WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS! And They would have birds that are too close genetically and illness "which we hope is what they're trying to avoid" would run wildly out of control. Wow, I guess that more folks on welfare, getting food stamps and going without a home or *&^%$#@! else doesn't count either? Sorry, am I wrong? I get really upset when someone who doesn't know what they're doing messes with my paycheck, ability to put food on my table and take care of my young family.
