Stay at Home Mom or Back to Work?

Maybe I missed someones post, but just a thought...what about your 16 year old son? Has he thought about getting a part-time job? I detassled corn when I was 14. I felt very proud of my employment. I have not stopped working since.

Starting to work young, is not a bad thing. Gives you the true meaning/worth of money. Also gives a kid a good work ethic. My kids are to little, but I would be very proud of them if they wanted to help with finances.

Dont be discouraged if you think they will miss out on being a teen. They will make very good friends...ones that work!

All about the Egg - We have told our kids that they will not work during the school year - summer jobs are okay, but their education comes first. My oldest son is in the top 10% of his class. My baby is making straight A's. We are so proud of both of them and do not want them to jeopardize their academics for minimum wage. They both want to go to College and academic scholarships/financial aid will be the only way that we will be able to send them.

Both myself and my husband worked during high school and our grades suffered. I had alot of fun working and gaining some independence, but I really wish that I would have made better grades.
