Staying as Healthy as We Can Food and Pesticides

Pics
I went to Costco today. It was busy, which I expected. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no limits posted on shelf stable staples (flour, rice, sugar, etc.) like there were at the beginning of the pandemic. It was well stocked too.

I like Costco for their good selection of organic food. I got 10# of organic all-purpose flour for $8.50. I think the local grocery has 2# bags for $5(?)

Organic... it's not "just a fad" anymore!

I get weird looks at the grocer sometimes. My cart today was all fruit, vegetables, and frozen fish. I either make my own bread or buy it fresh at a nearby sourdough bakery. I make all salad dressings fresh nightly. We buy things like tortillas (tried them from scratch and it was a fail), oil, vinegar, canned beans, pasta, cheese, almond milk (I use that instead of creamer in my coffee), and butter. I’ll admit, I do buy pouches of microwave rice to save time on a quick dinner night. I figure a pouch of rice with everything else cooked from scratch is still much better than a microwave dinner or fast food.

Eating healthy and non-processed is definitely challenging. I try not to beat myself up too much when we are short on time and use a “convenience” item. ❤️

Get case of beer to balance it out and throw them off. Kidding!

I probably get looks like that too, but I'm oblivious to that sort of stuff. Let 'em, I don't care. I sing as I walk down the aisles, and talk to myself. That probably get me more weird looks.
