I believe I've had a 2 once! Definitely more blue/purple in person. Not my preferred amount of "nearly impossible to chew because I don't have wolf teeth". XD As a kid though, the slightest hint of pink would send me into full panic mode.

I definitely wouldn't go beyond 8

I had a #1 on my 18th birthday. The restaurant sent multiple people to talk me out of it, but I wouldn't relent. It was one of the most memorable meals of my life!

Nowadays, I play it safer with a #3-4. If you're cooking it past #5, step away from the grill, you maniac! Have some chicken breast if you're that averse to flavor.

Aha! Extra cheat sheet! I have had blue rare. I order med rare at the steakhouses here, because they usually come out closer to rare.
