Stella's Social Club

I just have to say, it irritates the cr*p out of me that everyone that isn't in CA always seems to have green grass.
Our grass is "white" about 6 months of the year and another 2 it is brown, so we try to enjoy the other months that it is green and some of that is even warm enough to enjoy being outdoors. I wouldn't mind a little bit of that warmer weather right now. We've been stuck with highs in the low to mid 30s - Yuk!

......................ours is green for about ten minutes, then is dry brown most of the year and mud brown the rest.

But I will admit, it's been in the 70's/80's all week.

My lawn is green, but my water bill is $200 per month during irrigation season (most of the year).

Hot Dog,
I found where some of my friends had disappeared too. Can I join Stellas,s club too??? I have missed you .
Today I have been throughly wormed. I followed up my Wazine with the Ivomectin.

He is getting to be a whopper. Hes bigger than my white orp roo. So far both have been sweetes. I want to keep it that way. They are so pretty and still growing.
I have 25, roos, and hens together this yr. I will be moving them all to the coast of NC. sometime the last of Nov. Thats a production. After awhile maybe I will get it figured out and just have it down pat.We have enough cage boxes to take 12 but have to build for the others. Some of them like the Jaerhons can be put two to the nest box. Also the Wheaten AM's .those red GNH from Kathy and orps no way though. Wish me luck How has everyone been.?

No high water bills here and I can't remember when the last time we've had to water the grass. In the summer, I cut the grass as short as I can, hoping I can stunt it. Even with mowing 2x a week its like like haying! Wouldn't mind a happy medium. I would hate it being brown all the time, though. Wish I could send you some of the moisture we've been getting, though I'm not sure you'd like it in its current form of snow.

Hi crazyhen and rancher hicks! Wow, visitors! Stella loves visitors and old friends.

Kathy I ordered silestone when we did the first renovation. We were going very modern with a beachy feel. I ordered the slightly green sea foam color and it was gorgeous. Problem is we waited 8 weeks with plywood countertops and on the day of delivery they said the forgot to make ours! Then they said we were at the back of the line to get it done because "other customers have been waiting!" I contacted the bank, got my sizable deposit refunded and went to a stone place and ordered granite. I picked out the slab, they came to measure same day, next day I went to the shop and watched them cut the granite from the template they made. Two days later they installed it! It was gorgeous and one of the features that helped sell they place when we decided to move. People loved it with the full grate backsplash. I paid $6,000.00 which was much less than the composite quartz. I still love the quartz but we needed countertops fast!

Funny, Mary and I were just talking about this yesterday. We are all tired of brown.

Welcome!

I think with the granite they say it emits some kind of radiation. It is a natural sequence that involves the breakdown of granite rock. I would think the small amt . in a kitchen would not be a bother.
I love both, the granite bluish kind and the quartz. What color have you picked out?
I live in a doublewide in the mtns and have laminite and its ok but if I had the money( my family keeps me broke) I would love to have an upgrade.

Most of the granite that is emitting radiation etc is the treated stuff from china. The pre cut counters that they ship over. Its from the stuff they use to color, bleach and treat it, plus the glues they use to put the lip on. So it's not just harmless background radiation. Our Peninsula is a " granit" . Its not really granit, its hard natural quarts with tourmaline growing in it. It is hard enough to be considered granite, but its is very untypical. Its from Brazil. When I was a mineral buyer I used to by small polished slabs of the stuff and people loved it. I FREAKED when I saw it as a countertop. It is dark but I love all the tourmaline!

He owns the granite company. I believe he is of Armenian descent as is most of the crew. They were so fast and everything is done to perfection.
