Stella's Social Club

I made it through about 5 seconds of that video before the sound went OFF.

BTW Kathy, the I Told You So's and references to the color yellow? I didn't even see those. Nope.

Yeah, sure. hahaha......

The show was fun. I got to meet Walt and pick his brain. His runner duck won best waterfowl. He mentioned that he's planning on calling you soon Kathy. Your name came up because he asked me what other breeds I have and I said I have a BR hen from you.

Glad you enjoyed the show. Are you ready to start showing now?

So, you got to meet Walt! He's a great guy. I hope he comes back to Kansas City this year for his annual meeting (not sure it is in KC every time though). Then, he can come by and see me. I have not chatted with him for awhile, other than PMs.

I want to meet Bill (NYREDS), too. I have talked on the phone with him and I sure do like him. He has some of my Delawares.

Walt was super nice to take the time to talk with me at a show that he was so busy. Bantam Ko Shamo's had their qualifying meet and there were over 100 of them there.

I think I will show. I was mostly concerned about bringing diseases home to my flock, but he said in the past 10 years he has only seen 1 sick bird. He said he doesn't quarantine when bringing his birds home either. (and his birds are worth much more than mine)

I have a couple of things to work on in my flocks first, and I have to condition them for showing. But I think it will be a good experience for me.

i'm lucky enough to have Walt as a fairly nearby neighbor (and he's retired from the same university i teach at) -- once his showing schedule quiets down just a bit, he's volunteered to come over to my place some afternoon & show me what to look for in my silver campines...

That's awesome!

There were not many campines at the show. I think I only saw one.

X2! What a resource!

well, we still have to manage to actually schedule this, he's a rather busy guy! and Rinda, if he has any helpful pointers on isbars, i'll be sure to pass them along... and a cream legbar discussion day is planned for some time in May, when Curtis (aka GaryDean26) will be out west...
