[The Sheriff]

Dang, my morning! Laverne's love for Stuart reached a crazy point when she went into heat a couple of days ago. She has followed him all over the pasture. This morning I found her chasing him, head butting him to the ground and him kicking to get up! It looks like he has some blood on his side but I can't get close enough to see. I couldn't separate them without injuring myself. I put up temporary fencing and quickly moved the girls into our yard by luring them with dinner rolls. I am not sure the temporary barriers are going to hold until Michael gets up. I am a wreck!

She knocked the fence down and is back in there! I may have to separate four emus from the two goats and see if the emu fighting will escalate.

one splash, still trying to figure out how legs work

one black, the last to hatch and *tiny* -- i'm giving it vitamins

and two blues, ridiculously cute.

sorry to read that -- i wasn't sure the black one was going to make it out of its shell, it pipped but then sat there for over 24 hours -- finally got out, but it's much smaller than the others, will have to keep an eye on it...
