Healthy eating indeed and gorgeous to look at too !

So when does the eggfarm cookbook come out??

Yesterday was National Cherry Pie Day. Did you know that? I did not know it at the time, but I just saw this picture. What a pretty pie! (We had cherry cobbler for dessert!)
Beautiful pie. But why do they have National Cherry Pie Day when cherries aren't in season?

Cherry pie is my favorite pie flavor. We have a couple of cherry trees here, but we rarely get many before the birds do or the deer munch on the branches. We just need to quit being lazy and cover them more than we do.

The God's Eye table topper is quilted and the binding ready to go on. Also, I pieced another table runner, this time in a Disappearing 9 Patch pattern in an Americana theme.

Tom is going to visit his dad today, about an hour and a half southwest of us, so I'm handling it all alone today. He was gone most of yesterday, too, doing errands, having his violin lesson, etc.

Just like we've seen in other people who have had a cancer diagnosis, before they know for sure they have cancer, they seem to be functioning at an almost normal level. Once they hear the diagnosis, they seem to fold in on themselves and just quit living as they were. His dad is not leaving the bed. I think he knew he had cancer way before he was actually told for sure, though, just that hearing the words made it real.

Tom's mom and dad used to go fishing all the time. It was their favorite pasttime. His mom died back in January 2000. About a month ago, his dad looked at one of Tom's sisters and said to her, "Mama is getting the boat ready up there." He knew.

I corrected that to say he told that to one of Tom's sisters. His dad only has one older brother who lives in Alabama. I'm not sure anyone has located his correct phone number yet to tell him. Surely, my FIL has that somewhere. We are approaching the living will subject. He has stated his wishes, but that is not going to be enough in my opinion. The woman he married may not be so ready to let him go; I had a feeling when Tom's sisters were so ready to accept him getting married two months after their mother died that it would come back to bite them where the sun don't shine. At least I pitched a royal fit when my elderly father (who is ten years older than Tom's) wanted to marry an illegal alien from Venezuela not much older than me. Didn't do me any good, no matter how much I begged and pleaded, but I can sure say I told you so to my stupid sister when something doesn't go right when he passes on. I didn't sanction the mess! Familes, ACK! Can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em. Oh, wait, you can. They do it all the time in this county I live in.

Kathy, love that cherry pie, the flower on top is beautiful. I've never seen that on a pie before. Someone made a lot of special effort.

We really need a smilie on BYC that is eating with gusto, it should be in my likeness because I am such a glutton.
