Actually they had the 20 birds out from the layer coop. Michael said a couple tried to make a break over/under fences. They were only out about 15 minutes. He said when he tried to herd them back in a couple got stuck in the area behind the gate and panicked when he tried to shoo them around it to go in. He said Tucker didn't get excited, just sat and watched. That being said I would NEVER trust him to be out there alone with them just like I wouldn't trust any dog.
Judge Judy at the gate after they got locked back up!
I am gonna go have a little surgery tomorrow, and when I get home in a couple days -
I want a turtle burger!
I have been having a difficult time breathing. I have been treated for bronchitis, and I felt a bit better, but never really felt recovered. Shortness of breath continued. Finally, I got lucky - when I went to the doctor there was no doctor available, so I saw a nurse practitioner! She ordered chest xrays, tons of lab work, and even did a CT of my lungs. Let me tell ya - most doctors that I know would have just treated me for another round of bronchitis. I am grateful for this incident.
Today I saw a specialist and surgery is tomorrow..... when my insurance company wanted time to review - he called my insurance company and told them it was an emergency and he would not put it off another minute. He said, "people die from this!" He told of coming in for emergency surgeries before, for this very thing.
A year ago (I thought a year, but I guess it was almost 2 years) I had thyroid nodules and had a biopsy of them done. I was suppose to follow up and "watch for any growth." Well, I kinda forgot about that..... I should have thought about this, too..... I have gained soooo much weight, it just has to be thyroid! I mean really - I have gained 50 pounds in 6 months! No kidding! The excess weight is killing my knees! I have a small frame and just can not carry this weight!
The CT of my lungs showed that my thyroid had grown considerably, and pushed my trachea 6cm (2½ inches) to the left of midline. The weight of the growing thyroid is crushing my trachea. The growth is below my clavicle (collar bone), so you don't really see a goiter growth in my neck - it is lower. He showed me the CT pictures and you can see from the top of my trachea (wide enough opening) to the bottom, where it is crushed to less than ½ the opening size it should be. Hopefully, the surgery will release the weight and the trachea will "spring" back into shape. Really hope so, because stints for this area are not very good and hardly used.
Possible complications - increased bleeding due to the area. My friend's mother had this done and she did have alot of post op bleeding, so I will be expecting that. Then, there is the problem of the location so near the voice box equipment! I may have a new voice, or a hoarse voice (temporary or permanent). He said due to location the incision would be larger than a higher one would be. Heck - I don't care about that! I am not vain.
I was in ER last night, or I don't think I would have made it to today. It was soooo bad.
So, all I want is to be able to breathe!
A little prayer from ya would sure be appreciated though!
Oh Kathy, I pray for a successful surgery and quick recovery. Are they removing your thyroid completely? I hope you have someone to help you post op. Let us know as soon as you feel able to, we'll be thinking of you!
