Welcome holm25!

Congratulations on all counts Dar, except the no chicken thing! Bad neighbor. Interesting that you would pop on today when I have yet another dental emergency! heading to the dentist this afternoon with a broken tooth.

BTW, the word "grandbaby" does not tell us if it's a boy or a girl. Has it been sexed yet? Sorry, couldn't resist a chicken joke.....

Love the pictures!

You all missed the baby announcement? Oh yeah.... it was on facebook. I won't tell the sex. I will let grandpa tell you.

Got rid of the babies (roosters) today. YAY! Another Delaware is brooding 6 chicks. More to come, it seems. I have more than a dozen broody hens sitting on eggs.

My house is broody mad also
2 turkeys
2 ducks
2 silkies on chicks together
1 silkie alone
1 showgirl sitting on nothing
1 serema with chicks
1 marans who is puffed up and threatening.

Everywhere you turn someone is growling at you!!

Any news about Tucker? Hope he's okay today.

We made it through the night. Winds howled, making for some nice sleep with the open window, but we've seen worse. It's still raining and more storms are expected tonight and tomorrow, then ten days of cooler weather and sunshine.

Ladyhawk was coming here tomorrow from Kentucky but has to postpone until Friday. Siding blew off her house, pasture fencing blew down and she found her mare across the street and a coop window was smashed. So, she's doing repairs before she can take off for Georgia. Her neighbor lost hundreds of feet of fencing and he's looking for his cows today.
Ditto on Tucker.

Glad you are all okay Cyn! And I hope all of the animals are found.

My broody curse continues as well. Sissy, one of the Belgian D'anvers who hatched chicks 9 weeks ago, is broody again. Maybe because her first batch was LF and they are way bigger than she is now, she thinks they're much older than they are, LOL.
Ditto here.

Dusty, my BR, is broody. I've been collecting eggs to give her. (AFTER the Easter hatch of course)
My OE was also on the nest last night.
And one of my Icelandic hens that has never gone broody is playing broody. She's on the nest sometimes at night, but not during the day.

I've been super busy trying to finish off the contests for the Easter Hatch and trying to get everything done to get my grandmother moved into a memory care facility. I signed more papers yesterday than when I bought a house. Plus, she needed a new bed, linens, blanket, comforter. I washed all of the sheets last night, so I have to put everything together today before she moves.
