What exactly was the breeding cross? My black split to chocolates are black, they just carry the chocolate gene. And it might just be the lighting, but my chocolates are much browner looking.

I got the eggs from a contest during the Easter Hatchalong. This is what she said.

"You can hatch blacks and black cuckoo from these eggs- if you do, they will be male and split for chocolate. Keeping blacks in with the chocolates is good for retaining deep color"

I didn't even remember her saying that the black would be male.

I was only planning to keep a chocolate female if I got one.
