The storms that are hitting you are coming our way..we are loving it. Plus the thunder. It really is cooler than normal at this this time of year. Makes me wonder what our winter is going to be like. :/

And hey, you still have those broodies going on? I have one, my Rhodebar again. I broke her once last month. She laid the month, and is now in the broody breaker again. Had no idea they would go so broody. She's as bad as a silkie. Only took a few days last time and she was fine..hope it's only that long again. As long as I hear, cluck, cluck, cluck, she's in her broody breaker.

We are not getting rain in Woodland and the rain will not be enough to stop the fires caused by lightening.

It is going to be a terrible time for us.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that ron. We've had a few fires too, but thank goodness for the rain, in fact, it just started up again..pouring! No fires in our county right now..in fact, Salt Lake City just had a terrible mud slide. Can't win for losing.

Yep, I'm up to Broody #10 this year. The 2 Barnevelders keep squishing their eggs trying to cram into the same nest box, so they are on their 3rd sitting I think. They still have 2 eggs, so we'll see if they make it to finish. Mary has some Icelandics in her incubator, so I will take some of those for my Olive Egger that is on her 2nd sitting this year.

Five more Pavlovskyas hatched in the last couple of days. One of them had a slightly splayed right leg so I put a hobble on it, except that I put the hobble on the wrong chick, TWICE. Now I have three in hobbles when only one needed it. I decided to leave them on since removing them on the feathered legs is difficult until they get a little worn and grody.

My Marans, who kicked her babies to the curb a couple of weeks ago, laid a few eggs and starting sitting again. Last night I took the two chicks with hobbles out and swapped them with her for the three infertile eggs she has been sitting on. Did not go well. The chicks scooted under her wings immediately. She reached back, squawked, grabbed on of the baits and literally flung it across the coop! I retrieved the second chick from under her and put them back in the brooder. I was surprised because she raised the three Orps that I hatched in the incubator. Anyway, I have one Icelandic due to hatch Sunday so I'll give her that egg.

Were hanging in here. Michael's bone scan is today. We should have results tomorrow. One day at a time right now.

Hoping for positive results that it hasn't spread.
