Yesterday I started by going by the fairgrounds in Placerville and the Raleys next store. It was amazing how many pieces of fire equipment where there .
Later in the day going up to Placerville from Diamond Springs on Hwy 49 from the ridge above town you could see smoke billowing up from the canyon somewhere north of Camino.

during Oktoberfest in town I counted numerous air tankers and a DC-10 flying over us at fairly low altitudes going towards the fire.
last night we had crazy wind though and lots on lightning but at least we got some rain. hope they got the rain up there and not just the wind and lightning

The Sheriff said:
Air quality "very unhealthy" today from smoke. I am not feeling too well but did manage over two days to make two types of salsa for the freezer, green and fresh tomato plus these chilaquiles. They were delicious.





Hope Jason and the others on that side of the canyon are ok. Hoping for better fire news tomorrow. Stay safe and don't inhale.

Placerville is forever in my thoughts of one of my favorite places from my agility times in the 90s.
