It is dumping buckets here too. My gosh, it hasn't rained like this in a very, very long time - goodness knows we need it desperately! I saw that there are flash flood warnings in the King and Rim fire areas.

At five this morning a very large storm front passed by. It is likely heading up your way so watch out!

Torrential rains I say! Now they say winds upto 35 mph this afternoon and thunderstoms. Time to break out Tucker's thundershirt! Yiikes!

@Eva2012 Mmm, dragon fruit. It's delicious together with some pineapple and unsweetened, plain yoghurt.

@mlmddh I think the earliest noticeable changes can be seen around day 10. That requires really good equipment and an experienced operator though. I think the better half usually recommends to wait at least 3 weeks. We're still a few days short of that, but the rest of the week is going to be hectic, so I'm going to go over there this afternoon and we'll see what we can spot. Otherwise it's a new week next week again...

Keep in mind, the embryo doesn't attach to the uterus until day 18-20. So you really can't confirm pregnancy until it attaches. If you wait until around day 30, it should be attached and shown proper growth, then the pregnancy can be best confirmed.

@mlmddh Yeah, we didn't see anything yet. But we're experimenting a bit with how soon you can see something as well, so we tried. We'll take a peek again next week. Luckily, an ultra sound doesn't really have any adverse effects, so there's not really any risk to it.

Today we have an atmospheric river--It is like a river of water going over us. We are now having local and small stream flooding. If this storm happened after the lakes were full, we would have major flooding.

The good news is that Clear Lake, a lake that only gets water from rain and not snow run off has gone up above the operational level. That lake is very low still though.

What we need is for the rain to continue through at least February. Until March would be better.

A good one to measure our rainfall is Lake Hodges. Most people dont know it exists any more. when It fills it goes under an over pass for it and covers a good square mile. Shallow of course no more than five or six feet deep but a good fishing lake.
