I bet your house smells great! I love the aroma when baking bread!

Fried eggs . . . . not so much . . .

I know exactly how you feel, and understand well. Blessings and all the best to you!

We have only about 35 hens now, and we are still tied down and unable to pack up and go whenever and where-ever we please. Well, we also have 2 toddlers now, too. . . . . can't sell them.

Anyway, we are considering getting rid of everything (but maybe a handful of hens) to free us up.
Nice to see you Kathy.

Thanks Kathy. It is such a hard decision. I know I'll feel much better in a single story house and less than half the square footage to clean and maintain. Still makes us sad to think that we are leaving but another adventure awaits.

Define "handful."

I can understand how you feel. We plan to go to TX for a few weeks and we have grandchildren in Fl too. My DD and hers have moved in and I'm hoping they can just keep the chickens alive til we get back. There's is a situation I won't go into but at least I'll know the kids won't be moving around a lot and have a roof over their heads. Til their parents get a clue.

Since we've no definite plans I'm hatching chicks just the same. I figure they're easy enough to find homes for if things change. I'm on the NY chicken lovers thread so in contact with quite a few folks nearby. Plus we're planning the annual Chickenstock in Ava this year.

Unfortunately for you, you'll soon have preschool and the like to deal with. Take heart in that you're doing good work with the kids. I hope you've found a good spirit filled church where you are. It does help. Remember you're not alone.

Lordy, I put a roof over my daughter's head 15 years ago so the kids could get through high school. Last one graduates in June. I can count on one hand the number of times my daughter has paid her rent to me in that time. I can't count on a calculator the amount of money I have lost. But, I got the girls through school and they will all have to take care of themselves very soon. The Bank of Mary has just closed its doors, except to Mary! I am too old to be homeless. I get cold easily.

Yikes, just got a lowball offer on the house. Told them to stop wasting my time. I vacuumed for these people at 7:00 a.m.! :somad
