Stella's Social Club

I've been sleeping most of the day , too cool and windy out to venture outside. Now that I'm up can't score tickets for Martian, at any of 4 theatres, that aren't the highest priced for that day..Rats, they overdid the PR push.

I took some pictures today but haven't gotten them off my camera yet. Johnny is working today on stuff he was planning to do yesterday, mostly dies and hardware. Right now he is putting the wood tiles back up. We'll sleep there tonight if the fumes are gone.

He showed up!

That will keep Michael from trying to do stuff himself.

(don't tell him I said that)

Too late! He reads the Stella thread.

Johnny had a good attitude about the stuff we did while he was away. He took the doors down and rehung them. They were marked with a number on the side of the door and a piece of tape with a number on the door jamb! We didn't know that. Of the three doors Michael hung, one was in the right opening! Johnny takes everything in stride but the wood tiles upset him. They reinstalled them today with Liquid Nails and leaned heavy boxes against them. Michael and I were just in the house and one of the tiles in the top row which didn't come down yesterday is buckling today! I think we will eventually get it to stick but it has been quite an issue.

Johnny told us today that he will need another week in the house to finish. That means another week in the motorhome for us. Good grief.

Here are a couple of pics.

Sunset out my kitchen window (the one with the cooktop)

There is a hole in the gutter directly over the walkway to the front door. Eric, my cabinet guy got sick of the rain water dripping on his head so he fixed it very creatively.

Note the twig to divert the water to the side! Too funny! He said to tell you guys that this piece of work cost me $100.00! That was the amount he charged us for an extra few hours yesterday.

He installed my beautiful combination microwave/oven. I love how it looks!

All the cabinets are done except he had to take three drawer fronts off today and take them back to the shop. They need a little shaved off one side to clear the side of the freezer. I will miss those drawers! They'll be back on Monday.

Here is my ridiculously huge fridge and freezer (for two people). Eric assembled and installed the trim kit yesterday and today.

The cabinets are covered in preparation for tile backsplash tomorrow. You can see where the drawer front were removed to cut down for clearance past the freezer.

Still have all the packing inside. Eric was working on them today so I couldn't get in there and get them set up. I'll do it in the morning before Johnny and Julio arrive.

The only appliance left to install is the dishwasher. It will go in after the backsplash is set. There is still a bit of plumbing do.

Sorry I missed your call Kelly. I didn't have the phone with me in the motorhome. We moved the phones and internet back to the house thinking we could move back in today! Silly us. We had to move them back to the motorhome. Hope the rest helped you feel better.

Serious fridge/freezer envy here! Guess I shouldn't brag about my 1980s model almond colored refrigerator with shelves broken off the doors! LOL!

Been taking chicken pics today, but I'm trying to be good and wait until they are watermarked to share.... got some nice ones!

Our fridge has the shelves broken off the doors too. Built in obsolescence I call it. I well remember our avocado fridge, and double oven when we moved in l969. Thought they were so purty. Ugh, still have the original sorta turquoise bathtub and sink. The toilet had to be replaced and the plumber raved over its color & thought people would pay good money of it.

So sorry to hear you are not feeling well, Kelly.

It's gettting close now, Mary. Your new home will be all finished in just a few more days. Exciting! It is looking great!

We bought a Kawasaki Mule the other day. The grandkids call it, "The Donkey." Funny little boys, aren't they. hahaha

Love it! We gave away our Polaris when we moved here. It stopped working in the last few days we were there. You'll have a great time with The Donkey!

Mary, love the kitchen - it looks so clean and gleaming. The colors really meld.

Kelly, strep can really drain you, hope you feel better soon. I have had some viral crud (thanks to my employees who all have children that brought it home from school) that has really sucked the life out of me this week, but compared to strep it is minor. Yesterday was my Dad's birthday though, and it was hard to get through the day - thanks to some of my friends for helping me out.
