Stella's Social Club

I said I loved the pantry door! Way back when you first posted the pic! Old doors are my thing. I think it's going to be great.
I think my door thing dates back to my childhood when we lived in an old Victorian farmhouse with 10 foot ceilings and massive thick doors for every room. I grew up there but at the end of the '60's we had to move because the property was sold - to a developer, who promptly took out all those beautiful doors, piled them up and burned them! That was the era when everything old was bad and crappy "modern" was in. Later in life, I worked for a man who collected pieces of old houses and barns - he called them "artifacts" - and would use them to create gorgeous new houses that looked like they were 200 years old.

I know you did and for a period of time you were the only Stella social club member that I loved!

That door is a decorating stretch, even for me but I love it.

I too love old houses and old things. The farmhouse was great, but I learned that three flights of steps is for young'uns and selling a 120 year old house isn't for sissies. Had I purchased that house before the flipper got to it, I would have restored it, not flipped it. I would have torn out the wallpaper, not painted over it and I would have used period pieces instead of big-box-store stuff. But I loved that old house and its history.

Love the picture! By the way, I am in need of a new camera. I love the one I have, but it is worn out. Should I get a new one (the same one) or a different model? What do you recommend?

My Sony is still working but not as well as in the beginning. It tales a long time for the lens to retract and occasionally gets stuck and won't trigger. I have to re-start it a lot. In its defense, I used the heck out of that thing. It has been licked by donkeys, pecked by emus, dropped in the dirt, shoved in my purse without a lens cap, etc. Once I got the Canon 5D Mark III I stopped even looking at cameras. In fact, if Michael saw a camera store website pop up in my browsing history he would probably cancel my bank card.

The last time you mentioned getting the new Sony I looked at the website and it did look like they made some good changes. I still love mine for video because of the tracking focus in video mode. The Canon takes great video but anytime the subject moves, you have to refocus. Then of course you have to edit out all the blurry stuff. I probably need to play with it more to get better at it. With the little guys running around your house the tracking focus is definitely a plus. I can't imagine them standing still while you refocus!

I'm dead serious. You throw it and you will kill someone. That is if you can heft it enough to throw it. It's the most uncomfortable thing ever!

I'm still laughing! Which is a good thing because I've been suffering with terrible back/pelvic pain all weekend. Naturally - it has to be on the weekend when these things hit. After a really uncomfortable night, this AM I was seriously considering telling my agoraphobic husband that he has to drive me to the ER. But since I don't do the ER unless I'm 3/4 dead, I'm trying to hold on til tomorrow and go to the dr. No idea what's causing this.

I hope you feel better!

Kathy, you will not be sorry you got the real down comforter - they are much warmer, cozier and lighter than the fake stuff. X3 on the chenille robe.

I agree. Down comforters are super cozy.

I hope we actually have a winter this year, so I can use mine. I didn't use it last "winter", if you could call it a winter.
