yay! Mary's back to normal! We need more house pictures. I am sitting around watching TV - last weekend I fell and broke my ankle, my foot and sprained my wrist! I'm out of commission for 2 to 3 weeks - just call me Calamity Jane.

Loved the calf pic's, Mike. My favorite breed of cow also.

There is a scene in City Slickers where Billy Crystal's character aids a beef heifer with a difficult calving - and out popped a Jersey calf! Cracked me right up.

Now I have to watch it again.

OK, so beef means male? So it couldn't have a calf? I googled it and I still don't get it!

Beef cattle and dairy cattle are different. Dairy cows are thin, not suitable for eating. Beef cattle have meat on them. One would not have offspring of the other, unless crossbreds. Similar to a meat goat birthing a milking goat.

Bahaha! My husband is really yearning for miniature dairy cattle. I told him we will see how things look in the spring. We still have cross fencing to put in before that is even possible.

Happy 4th birthday to my littlest fairy princess, my animal whisperer Lydia! It's been a crazy week, I will be making her cake tomorrow.
