No one refuses my money -

Maybe I seem too earnest about giving it to them.

They feel like they owe us for giving them so much stuff over the years. We don't feel that way at all and are more than willing to pay for the great tree work they do. They win because I don't want to hire people I don't know for tree work. We are the caregivers for old heritage oaks and you don't mess with that.

The only thing we don't get with the work-for-pizza plan is cleanup!

The tree that I showed Mike in yesterday looks much different now. He removed all the heavy limbs that hung over the house, more specifically, over my bedroom!

Mike also pointed out that this scar, running from the top of the tree to the bottom is from a lightning strike! So he relieves my concerns about tree limbs crashing through the roof, only to throw in lightning strikes! Who does that?

Prayers for Mike. That is going to take a good long time to heal. WOW.

I guess I need to be grateful. Yesterday DW and I were on a 4 mile hike. about 2.5 in something snapped in my bad knee.
It was a good thing she was there or I would never have made it home.

I can barely walk, but I did do a little yard work today so I'm praying I heal quickly.

Ouch Mahonri - I have heard long periods of chicken deprivation causes weakness in mind and bone. I'm glad she was there to help you home but made up facts don't(hardly) lie - IF you have a few hens this would never have happened.

Mary, I have a huge sycamore tree that has branches hanging over my bedroom. Sycamore trees frequently dump tree size branches on anything. It makes me a nervous wreck. The very nice guy next door went out a couple years ago and cut the branches back as far and & high as he could reach - with a pole saw. Needless to say they are back.

I have been told you need a sycamore tree specialist to take them down. They are very difficult (read dangerous) to work on. You don't climb them and cut. You need BIG bucks to take them down. No one mentioned that when I bought it as a twig at K-mart in 1973.

I saw one of those yesterday!

It was a crane that went up to the top of the tree and they cabled the branches with it.

I wish I could have been able to watch them work--but I had to get back to my Office before someone missed me.....
