Dang, I have missed a lot. I jacked up my iPad by connecting an external keypad, then after disconnecting I couldn't get my keyboard back. Then I tried to use my iMac and suddenly smelled something burning by my desk. In a couple of minutes the whole family room smelled like burned plastic. We thought it was the computer but Michael plugged it in at the back of the house, and it worked fine. I remembered the plug always feeling hot when I removed it to take my computer in the kitchen to shoot photos tethered to my computer. Michael took the cover off the plug and found that there was a loose wire that had singed the coating on the wire next to it! Yikes. It was the last of the old yucky plugs that were here when we bought the place. Michael replaced it and I am back!
Anyway, your story made me cry Diva. I thought about my sweet Tucker and why he does all the silly things he does. He does those things because he has to, because people hurt him. Thanks for sharing that. I will remember it the next time I have to get up and put Tucker on a leash to get him to move ten feet on the laminate flooring. He is getting better, but sometimes he just stops and can't move until he is on leash. Most of the time I don't even have to clip it to his halter, just walk with him with it in my hand. The leash represents some sort of security to him, because he won't budge if I get lazy and just want to walk alongside him without the leash.
I remember when we boarded him at Aunt Cynthia's Bed and Biscuit Inn. I called at night to find out if he was ok and the caregiver said, "Yes, he is asleep in my lap." She said he came over to her, put his paw on her leg. When he felt comfortable, jumped up and curled up in her lap and fell asleep. They learn to cope with what life dishes out.
As for using the likenesses of my animals on *.com, I cannot do it. I am a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I don't even scroll back on my blog because of the sadness I feel when I see their pictures. I really miss them a lot. That doesn't mean I think we did the wrong thing, I just miss them. I know they are animals and all went to great homes, but I miss them. It will get better over time. I love living here in town. Downsizing was the right thing to do, at the right time. But thanks for thinking the pics are worthy!
I am off to the kitchen take pics of a lemon pie. That's as exciting as things will get around here today and I am ok with that!
