Stella's Social Club

Can I quote you on that?

Sure. It is going in the shop tomorrow.

Beautiful sunsets Rinda. Did you see that moon tonight? It was gorgeous. I took some shots of the moon setting early this morning but they didn't come out too good. I was shooting through the window because if I opened a door the security alarm would go off!

My latest project. I turned a small space in my laundry room into a sewing/craft nook. It is small but will suit my needs. I'm not Cyn or Rinda when it comes to sewing! I am Kelly, though.

Michael built a 2x4 frame for me, and I made a counter out of reclaimed wood. I made a curtain to hide stuff today.

I got the wood at Sipes Tahoe and sanded it smooth and applied three coats of Weathered Wood stain and poly. It is smooth as a baby's butt while still keeping the rustic charm that I love.

I bought this little chair/shelf from a crafty friend of mine. Right now Tucker's chewed up toys are sitting and waiting to be sewn back together.

I love this little sign. I had been hanging in my bedroom but more recently tucked away in my closet. I like it here!

I went to Jo-ann's today and bought the fabric for the curtains. They were quick and easy to make.

The left side hides my oxygen concentrator. I couldn't put anything solid like doors because they machine needs to pull oxygen in and it also heats up. So fabric worked the best. I also have my serger under here too. You can see the 2x4 frame Michael made. It is level and everything!

On the right side I put a little set of drawers I found for cheap at Home Goods. I just need to take the legs off so the top drawer opens. It is 1/2 inch too tall. I like this better than the colorful plastic ones. Plus the drawers are solid which will keep notions, pins, needles, etc from falling out. Most of the others were some sort of mesh. Kind of looks like I could store velvet handcuffs and a whip in there too!

So that's how I spent yesterday afternoon and this morning.

Nope, you are better than Kelly. You have an area dedicated to sewing. So, can I bring my kids' Boy Scout badges over for you to sew on?

I love the wood, it's beautiful!

and the  fun goes on !

Yes, it does Jake. For me, every day I wake up breathing, has great possibility! Good luck finding your eggs. I miss hatching and raising chicks but no looking back. Now I lift furniture instead of 50 pound bags of feed! Keep us posted.

Uh, no. Plus, isn't sewing one of the skills they get a badge for? Seems like that could be put to use in your situation! Please don't tell me only Girl Scouts have a sewing badge. Too early for me to go on an equal rights rant. :)

Yesterday I sold the little white table with the dark stained top. I hated to see that one go. This morning I am picking up a nightstand and an end table to work on. I like finding the small pieces for practicing techniques before I get into doing larger, more expensive stuff. I am going to try image transfer on a table top.

Nope, no sewing badge in Boy Scouts.

Sounds intriguing.
