I thought these beautiful blue pullet eggs showing up in my nest box were from my Sapphire pullet, since I had caught her practicing in the nest box and she is a cross breed. I happened to go in the coop yesterday and caught the culprit laying, saw the egg come out of her.....and it is my blue Ameraucana. She actually beat a cross breed to laying.:clap

That is great news!
I hope to have blue eggs again soon too

:woot

We need blue egg pics!

Ugh Mike, blue eggs are soooo hard to photograph. I'll try. I hope to have multiple blue eggs soon enough.

I don't know if my black Ameraucana pullet is going to make it. She's got an impacted crop or something, it's not emptying at night but not sour yet. The black male is having the same issue. I'm massaging them every night, we'll see what happens.

How big do the AB birds get? I'm thinking they are a smaller bird?

As a side note from critterville, since my dog got sprayed by the skunk last week.......it hasn't been back in the coop and we haven't had any more encounters of the stinky kind. Maybe coincidence, but there was a dead skunk in the road way by my house........kinda hoping it is the same skunk. Time will tell. Upon coming home last night just after dark, I did see an opossum wandering up our road. :barnie It went up on our neighbor's property. (we are in the country, so "neighbor" is still a good distance away)

Oh my gosh. . . . I just posted on the wrong thread. I have no idea how to navigate anymore. LOL
I am checking in to see if Mary, Kelly, and our other California friends are safe. Please let me know.
Fires are across the valley from them currently. No fires up that way but we are in fire danger.
