My turkeys got their wings clipped last night. Tired of fishing them out of the garden and off the fencing. So, did they go in the coop last night? NOPE. I had to get them out from under the coop and put them in the coop.

Here's where I was last weekend. My son is trying for his Fishing Merit badge for Boy Scouts. The only thing left for him to do is catch, clean and cook a fish that he caught. We were here all day and caught.............................................nothing. All I got was a sunburn.

And the previous weekend, we hiked to this lake. It's only accessible by hiking (as is the one in the prior post) - no boat launch, nothing. Depending on the trail you take in, it's at least a 5 mile round trip hike, at roughly 7,000 feet in elevation. This is our favorite lake to hike to.

Beautiful pics Kelly! Your turkey tales are what keeps me from letting mine out of the pen I have them in.

karimw and debs_flock, what do you see in this picture to make you say the one closest to the camera is a boy?

Both boys

This was a blind guess from someone that has minimal knowledge of turkeys. I was basing my guess on the fact that one of the turkeys had a cleaner head (less hanging skin) and neutrally colored (not so pink). If all the birds had looked the same (like the two above), I'd have no guess and think they were too young to tell or possibly all the same sex.

All I got was a sunburn.

No, you also got a lovely view. Lovely lake, which is it? I've hiked to a few of the walk in lakes (Aloha, etc.).

Same here, which lake?

Deb

Thanks Kathy. I'm thinking about enlarging them and framing them. It was actually taken with my phone.

Deb.........They are in Plumas County. (up near Gold Lake, if you know where that is) The first is Big Bear Lake and the 2nd is Long Lake. We have also hiked that mountain in the background of the 2nd picture - now THAT was a tough hike!

Sorry your son didn't catch a fish. Does that mean you're stuck going back there? It really looks gorgeous.
