Stella's Social Club

At least one of the five flock eggs I put under Sparkle, my recently acquired house silkie, started peeping when I checked for pips. Tomorrow is Day 21. (No external pips yet.)

I am so excited!

It's not like it's my first broody or anything, but it IS the only one I've had right in the house... Plus, Sparkle is special.

Okay, everybody in the flock is special. Miss Sparkle is just specialer. :D

Is it just my family, or all families?

I am my parents' oldest child. They had 4 daughters in 5 years. And then....I have an adopted brother that is 11 years younger than me. As the story goes.....
He was found being neglected, in a bar (by my dad's brother, Uncle Ronnie), with his parents there drinking. My uncle told my dad she and her husband were unfit, as they were both drunks and this was their 10th child. (I do believe there was some sort of blackmail that went on, to get the mother to agree to adopt this boy out). Their other kids were all in foster care, but never adopted out. Anyway, that's "the story."

UNTIL NOW ! ! !

My parents died in 1979 and 1999. My uncle is dead, too.
Newsflash..... my adopted brother was actually fathered by my uncle.

How did he find this out? I'm not real sure on all the exact details, but something about my brother wanting to know why he was to go to my Uncle (as a guardian) if anything happened to my folks. (I think he was reading their will). This was odd, because only he was. So he started asking relatives and someone "overheard," the story. Something like that.....

Ahh, I showed Iggies. I had BW & BOS at the National Specialty in Santa Barbara about 30 years ago (I'm old), also trained an Iggie to track.
Oh great, you must then know Louise Leschin -- I got mine from her line, that was 22 years ago.. out of Jazzin Jake.. went BOB BBE, AM at the 2007 Eukanuba in Long Beach.... tons of agility titles with my second IG.... ahhh memories..... now I don't have too much time to show -- with my garden, book publishing, my chickens and piano studio.... still have a gorgeous IG...

Dna testing is quite cheap now. It sounds like you have enough relatives to know for sure.

Yes, that kind thing happens a lot in families. My Mom's sister is married to a guy that is a cousin to the husband of another of my Mom's sisters. Then there was a divorce in the brother in laws family and a remarriage that made them uncle and nephew. So these two guys are cousins, Uncle and Nephew and Brother in laws all at the same time.

.The exact details have been explained to me several times but My mind refuses to retain understanding of how this could be....

Well, it sure would have been nice if one of you would have let me know that my broody was due to hatch.

Gee Kathy, you didn't get my email reminding you?

Cute chicks. My SG, Earlene is sitting on eggs due on St. Patrick's Day. At least I think they are, I haven't candled them.

My breakfast today :

Looks more to me like breakfast I would serve my chickens, I haven't tried any flowers yet. But the girls LOVE dandelions!
