Happy Birthday Kathy (I forgot we were so close, mine's in six days, I think we were the same age too).
I used to have goats (note the past tense). I had a La Mancha for a milk goat and her son to bring her into milk (of course she had a boy). I could NOT keep those goats in my pasture (old rickety fences). They were always wandering around my front yard and in my driveway. Their favorite place to be in life was on the hood/roof of my car. It was covered with tiny hoof scratches.
I must have pushed, knocked, chased, slid, grabbed, yelled those goats off my car a thousand times.
One time I was gardening and those d***n goats came running up and leaped onto the hood of my car. Out of reflex and frustration I took the shovel in my hand and swung at the goats. They of course jumped away unscathed. With tremendous effort I stopped my swing in mid-air when I realized I was just about to swing the shovel through the windshield of my car.
I sold them both a week later.

Well, the goats are gonna wait until spring. It seems I have a different surprise coming.
Turkeys from Porters. That was very thoughtful of my family to think of that, wasn't it.
Yesterday I had a visitor from Arkansas. He has raised lots of turkeys. He told me not to put them on the ground for 3 - 4 months, and then after that they pretty hardy. Guess I will try it that way and see if I have better luck. My storage garage is empty, and has been for over a month. I'm gonna clean it out real good with sanitizer and get it ready.
3 - 4 months?

Hope your pen is covered for the turkeys.
Mine isn't and I lost 3 yesterday - strange circumstance, still not sure what happened, BUT something scared them. 2 were outside the 6 ft fencing and one in the coop.
