I didn't even know how many days she had been sitting.

I think we only got 3-4 inches of rain. It sure was windy yesterday. Blew a few things around here. Nothing like what they got down south, of course, but nasty anyway. It should dry out quickly. I noticed my grass lawn of weeds getting green already.

We didn't get the wind, thank goodness, but had some light rain all day. Yippee.....we needed it badly.....but I'll have to mow on Monday if it gets dry enough by then!

Here is a fairly recent pic of Elska with her 7 chicks......

These will be, most likely, the last chicks of the year for me.

I've got to get the New Hampshires whittled down and all this years Icelandics boys have to go, except one........or maybe two..........

OMG, did a lot of coop rearranging the past few day. Went to lock up the Chickens tonight. ALL the Icelandics decided to sleep in the hug redwood tree... Are you kidding me:/ my husband and I just spent over an hour getting them all down and putting them in the coop. I hope they don't do this every night..I'm not to sure if I will be able to get my husband to climb that big tree again... YIKES!

WOW, Elska is so Pretty :) I love her Coloring....

Grateful DW is home. Got 22 eggs this week. 3 better than last week. It is SO MUGGY... can't believe we can't get any rain.

Some of my birds have been developing scabs on their combs and wattles? Chicken pox?
They aren't fighting.

Yup... "fowl" pox.... what is the treatment?
For that kind of dry pox you really don't have to or need to do anything. It will runs its course and fall off. I had this kind last year but this year my new birds got it in a different form that was not wet pox but seemed to concentrate in the head, eye and face area. It was more of an issue but you still can't do much for it.
