I'm happy to be where I'm going to be for probably the rest of my life. Hard to believe I'm even saying that. I've always lived with one foot out the door, being married to an Air Force man, never really settled, even after he retired, not until this place. Been here just over 11 years now. Hope all who are looking finally find THE place.

Well, if I weren't into poultry, the house and property I already own would be it - I love this place. It's why I am not selling it; I am going to move most of the flock to the new property and plan to actually get serious about "raising" chickens instead of just "keeping" them. Maybe someday I will add a manufactured home to the land there, too..... Neighbors. Country-living neighbors who don't like country noise. Go figure.

I am working on my pie skilz so I can take on Deb next year!

How many will I have to make Deb?

The pies I always enter

Lemon meringue (gone best in show with this one about four times)
Chocolate cream
Cherry
Other cream (I usually do banana)
Other Fruit (I usually do something like apricot, but I've done grape, pear, sliced lemons)
Apple
Berry
Other pie (I like to try oddball stuff here, used to always do pumpkin, but I've done carrot, chess, mincemeat and anything odd I can come up with)

And then we have a division for Fiery Foods and there is a class for pies, so I always enter one there. I took BIS fiery food this year with a cookie. The prize is always a rosette and a one year subscription to Chili Pepper magazine.

Linda, if you decide to add a manufactured home for the new place give me a holler. My ex-husband has been in the business (contractor) since 1972. He sets them up, tears them down, etc. He also gets good leads on used home that people just want to get off their property.

I like the idea of this sort of thing. I have no idea if they are good or not but those cute log cabin manufacutured homes are just adorable from the outside!

They sell those here and some of the used car lots use them for their office buildings. I even thought about putting one on our lower acreage to rent out from time to time or to longer term guests.

We used to own this little cabin in the mountains. It was called a park model. The big room we added on. It is up at Lake Almanor. We sold it just before the real estate bust. Man were we lucky!






After I had the driveway asphalt installed.

Got more Icelandic eggs today. Hope there are some pullets in here.




The last of the three eggs is in the Brinsea with the time lapse camera. It pipped when I picked it up so the video will miss the pip!
