Well, I put her down. I don't know if it was a broken wing or what. I just do not have the time nor the ambition to care for weak, injured, or sick birds. I know it sounds cold hearted, but that is how it is around here. I want strong and healthy birds to breed from. I have enough work to do with what I have and just do not want added work and responsibility.

That's sad, but understandable with all the wonderful breeding you do.

We picked up our BBB Turkeys and ducks from the processor yesterday. The owner told us they looked really good, healthy, and delicious. That made us feel really good coming from someone that processes a lot of birds.

Decided against the risk.

When I got home, one of my little ones was dead.

I fired up the Laree brooder. Not taking any chances on any of the others dying.

Got someone else to take care of the baptism. I'm going to the funeral... and I'm skipping the Christmas party.

Good for you! I waited too long one time, and lost 5. Ahhh, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

I'm sorry Kathy, but I certainly understand.

Nice! We just got a hog that a friend raised for us. I've never seen bacon with such pink coloring to it. We had some last night (husband is out of town, so kids and I had bacon and pancakes for dinner) and it was delicious.
