Stella's Social Club

I am still trying to arrange a hook-up time with Molly to collect my beef tenderloin or my guests are going to be hungry on Christmas! Tomorrow mid day Michael's daughter and their families will be here for a mid-day Christmas Eve celebration. I ordered all the food for that I I don't have to cook anything. We were originally supposed to be just getting back into town from our trip to San Francisco so I arranged things so I didn't have to cook. We didn't get to go and I am still not cooking. I am cooking Christmas Day though.

Grandson Buddy will be here from the 1st through the 6th. I get him for an extra day than originally planned! His ride up here didn't work out so my son got him a plane ticket for a day earlier. I am happy about that.

I feels good to be getting the other house off my hands and finally have time to settle in here. There's lots I want and need to do.

I've got another broody Icelandic.

Ida is taking great care of her EES.

I'll probably take them away from her on New Years so she can get back to the coop and start laying again.

I'm hoping I can get some chicks for Blucy. She doesn't seem to EVER get off her four golf balls.

Yesterday I went to historic Folsom and did some antique shopping. I had seen a listing for some hutches on Craigslist and want to check them out. I treated myself to the biggest most expensive one, of course. It is beautifully distressed and I love it. It is 7 feet tall and 5 feet wide. It really fills in the big empty wall and gives me lots of room for collectibles. The ugly white door is going to be gone soon, replaced by a wooden door with glass to let in some natural light. It is locked and we don't have the key so it hasn't been opened since we moved in. There are no other white doors in the main house, just in the utility room and basement. It's gotta' go. Bear in mind I just put in some things I had around the house. The lady who owns the shop delivered the hutch this morning. She suggested some wooden items on top and inside the case to balance the white, since most of the room is wood tones. I think I'll look for an old white runner for the piano and maybe a white throw over the rocker arm. I love it. Michael didn't go with me to pick it out and he isn't up yet but I assume he won't like it. He is a big matchie-matchie guy.
Mary, I absolutely love it. Can you see it from the kitchen? I love all the chicken nick nacks you have on it. Michael is crazy if he doesn't love it...

Yes, I can see it from the kitchen and Michael loves it. When I went to Roseville today I bought some cool stuff at Home Goods to add to it. We are still figuring out how to light it but have to take a break to get two Christmas celebrations over with.

Let me know about the meet-up for the meat hand-off. I will try to call you in the morning, I am off to bed. Just made 12 huge twice baked potatoes for Tuesday dinner and with the 12 extra halves I made potato skins for tomorrow. A throwback to the 80's for sure! I also made some sweet potatoes for Tuesday. I used my big stand mixer out in the utility room and it worked out great. I just love this house more every day!
