Mary, would the fam be willing to share where they got the sign?

I'll check Mary.....I know my son ordered it and it was delivered to my daughter's house in Little Rock before Thanksgiving. We brought it home with us, wrapped and told not to open it before Christmas. He said he ordered it online. I'll get the info and pm you.

Nice sign. I need me one of them. But what to call it? Cooper12 probably would have people scratching there heads. Though I like the name since it is my Son's name.

Well here is the place. Got dusted with snow again last night. The house is a project but love the land.
Surrounded by trees but only a few on the property.
I need to go level a spot for my coops. I have 1 coming tomorrow. Was going to get more right away but our Fridge will not fit in the spot so one coop for now.
I will have to use my other one as well for now.
Tomorrow I will start to build the runs .
40x15 breeder runs I think. Maybe 50x15

The Blueberries and Garden will be down here on the right. Coops in the general area.

Here is the house and my Kids.

Looks good. And it sounds like you have a well thought out plan.

Well, the family reunion of 2012 is finished. It was good to see my mom.... it's hard to see her struggle as she gets close to 86 years old. Wish my little brother and little sister could have come. In addition to her 36 grandchildren, by February she will have 40 great-grandchildren. (One of my nieces will have quadruplets in Feb.)

Anyone else ever get up at 2AM to go out and water and feed the chickens, pet and feed the dog?

I woke up, couldn't sleep and figured it was as good a time as any....

I've been so busy I haven't been giving them my usual 2 to 3 times a day look over and wouldn't you know it my almost 7 week old polish were almost out of water. I can't believe how big they've gotten. I suppose in two more weeks I'll take them out of the grow out pen with the heat lamp and see how they do without it in the pen without the lamp.

How old do you all let your chicks get before you take their broody mama away? My four week olds seem like they are fully feathered and that they would do OK without her in the pen with the heat lamp.

I'm going to break down and get a couple of chicks for Blucy as she never gets off the nest and I don't want her dying there.

So I'm giving an 11 minute talk in Church today... probably the other reason I can't sleep.

Wife's brother drove into town and has teeth that will need to be looked at and filled on Monday.

I'm glad I can be of use.

Congrats on the house Jason. Great possibilities there!

My broodies will "wean" their own around 5 to 6 weeks. Yours would probably be fine without her as long as they have a way to warm-up if it is cold.....well, cold to you to not the same as here.....high on Tuesday is forecast at 14 F and low of -6 F.......

Maybe someone in the NYD hatchalong will have a couple you could get!

I let the hens wean their babies Mahonri. And Wow, you have one HUGE family! Glad the reunion went well.

My 6 week old babies are losing their ecoglow today. They are so big now, they are moving it around the coop - they get under it and stand up and it comes off the ground.

And yesterday I FINALLY got my first egg from the wellie pullet I have been waiting on. It's a gorgeous egg and it's resting waiting for companions to join it in the incubator. I'll take a picture today.

I thought I'd share a picture of what my children got me for Christmas....

I hope the weather is nice enough when the DH is feeling better (down with a stomach flu

) to get it hung-up out on the barn.....I'll post another pic when that happens!!
That's awesome Mary! Just that much more proof you DON'T have a farm!

Cool place Cooper12! You'll have to think of a good name for it!
