Happy Birthday Ron! Who knew? Me, you and Elvis too!
Got the coops cleaned out and the tarps attached. I think I am sending the roll up hardware back and just rolling them by hand. It is a bit over the top. Made for those big open barns.
The bigger of the coops with the Icelandics fared very well with the Stall Dry. I didn't do anything in there but throw some shavings on top. The other coops were disgusting mud. Michael scooped it out and I swept and threw down some Sweet PDZ then covered that with shavings. We are expecting rain tomorrow so I guess we'll get to test the plastic tarps. Jeeze these coops have been a pain in the neck. I should have left them as open air coops, crowing nightmare and all.
I think I have a broody Isbar. We had to throw her off the nest several times today. She was sitting on a few eggs that had broken shells and covered with goo. It was so gross. If she is still broody tomorrow I will give her the three Isbar eggs due to hatch on Friday or Saturday. I hadn't checked for eggs for about three or four days because no much laying has been going on. I had three cream leg bar eggs and about nine filthy dirty icelandic eggs! I must have more than one pullet laying now for sure. Probably Lukka too and she was probably planning to start sitting on those eggs. Ha Ha I won. This time.
I have to go lay down. Dental pain is so bad tonight. I am calling in the morning.
