one darke and five ducks on their way to a new home. I crawled through my chicken tunnel to herd some through to the guy with the nest... Got two that way. Then we herded a batch of 'em into the coop. Closed the pop door and the people door, and I "gathered" three more terrified ducks. We're gonna do this again later in the week. He is thrilled to get such healthy and gorgeous ducks.

This is the fellow I call Amazing Eyebrows, who took my two Silver Sebright Roos and some LF hens early last year. (Hey, he's 70 years old, took a long time to grow those 'brows.). He can talk one's ears off, though. And that's saying a lot, that he can out talk ME.

I am beat. But happy.

Mary -
Quick question (I forgot) - - - What was the temp for incubating emu eggs? 97.5 ?
96 to 98, I think I was shooting for 97.0 why??????????????????? OMG!

BTW with my dental appointment moved to tomorrow I need to ship blue boy on Wed. I called and changed my shipping reservation. I hope that is ok. Sheesh.

A friend is incubating, and I forgot.
I might though.

No hurry on the shipment. You just worry about getting your dental work done! That is the important thing!

Deb....got the barred rock bantams from Horstman.

these look to be the packing peanuts that were included....any ideas what they might be?

in comparison to the bantam barred rock

It's hard to tell from the pictures, if they are bigger I'd go for the orps too. All I can say is they are adorable and I want the blue one!

He sent PP to me too, that's how I got started in both bantam buff brahmas (got 3/1) and bantam columbian cochins (got 1/2, better numbers). I love them both now!

Ok, this is freaky....Just now, after dinner, Michael asked me if I wanted to go in the hot tub with him. I said, "no thanks" and reached over for a fortune cookie and cracked it open. My fortune read "A tub and a rub will change your day." OMG!

I still declined but he went in without me. He can tub but he's not gettin' a rub.

BTW Kelly, Michael said that due to your rude comment about poor little Diana, you can no longer be my friend. It is entirely possible she suffers from a glandular problem. Like me.

They are cute....not like I need another LF breed. Lol if they are pullets they will go in general population as layers...if cockerels then they will be sold :/ only wanting to keep Icelandic Roos free ranging with the laying flock. Also only keeping brown egg layers so i can tell the Icee's eggs from the gen pop hens. My rocks are kept in separated breeding pens. I'm going to be adding bantam black rocks next. Will have white, barred & black rocks when it's all said and done (this year at least) :P of course it is only January
