Poor little Emu.

I hope everyone ill, gets well soon, and non of the rest of us catch it.

DW is finally on her way home. She should arrive home late tonight, weather permitting. Twelve days was a little to long to be without her. Our Schipperke gave us a little scare, she came down with pancreatitits, only had to spend 1 night at the vets (we expected a few days). She is recovering nicely and getting back to her bossy self.

Enjoy your time off Kathy! You deserve it. So sorry about the baby with the bad leg. You worked miracles with the others and we are all better for it. We should have lots of your beautiful emu videos to enjoy for years to come. I do admit looking forward to seeing you try to herd them all to the pond and back. I'd pay to see that one!

Just got word from Greenfire that my Cream Legbar chicks won't ship until tomorrow. I am glad she let me know so I didn't worry tomorrow when the call didn't come in. So now I need to get busy in the little yellow house building a second brooder for smaller chicks. I wish the ferret cage would fit through the door. That would solve the problem easily. My dark egg layers and one Isbar I have left are getting big fast and they need the space in the big brooder.

I worked my butt off today! I (sorta) cleaned up in the storage garage and got the poop masters moved out there.

I took a few pictures. I haven't loaded them on the computer yet, but I will.

Anyway, it is sooooooooo nice to have a day off and get to work outside!

I know y'all are sick of Tucker already but bear with me. Who could ever hurt this boy?

I took Tucker mole hunting today on the hill by the driveway. He loves it! Here he is really getting into his work. Makes me so glad we didn't place his yard where he would share a fence with the chickens. This boy can dig!

I just checked on the babies. They seem to be doing okay. I have a heat light on and also a heater. It is plenty warm in there, I think. I will check again in a couple hours. I do have another heater I could plug in if I need to. It is getting down to freezing tonight, and then near 60 tomorrow and the next day.

Yea, I think I just talked myself into plugging in another heater........
