OMG, I just realized Brittany is holding her new baby and talking on a cell phone!

When I had my son, we were hospitalized for a week and fathers were not allowed in the L&D or the maternity ward. Granted it was at a military hospital but jeeze.

Times, they are a changin'. Can you text in the delivery room? Just wondering.

For those of you with Cream Legbars look how light colored and barely chipmunk patterned the new breeders are. Well, at least the boys.

The girls look the same to me.

I am really excited about watching them grow out. Having the extras will be nice although I suspect the extras are from the prior imports. Time will tell if they look different.
Either GreeFire has been improving their CLs or you have one of the other lines. Those Roos will be mostly gray. It is much easier to auto sex them when the colors are obvious like that. There is not supposed to be much of a chipmunk pattern on CL male chicks so these are more "correct" than the other line.

I am supposed to have the new line but I suspect the extras are from the older lines. I will grow them out and keep the ones that are closest to the standard. Greenfire claims to be improving their CL and imported more that come closer to the UK standard.

Yes! The ones I hatched last year were not correct--it was too hard to auto sext them at hatch. Yours look like they are supposed to.

I wonder if the new line can take the heat better?

I am 10 to 15 degrees hotter than you are so I am sure yours do fine!

Mine did fine in the heat last year. I hope they do well here at the new place. They should get good afternoon sun from the row of pines and redwoods above the runs. I re-homed all of my other cream legbars but may keep a few chicks from the ones in the incubator now. My first cream legbars did not have good crests. They ones I hatched from others had big crests, but they were very dark charcoal grey, almost black. They also had way too much salmon on the chest. I didn't want to try for generations to breed those things out. I will add the rejects from the incubator to my layer pen though because the blue eggs are gorgeous. Duh, I should have kept some of the adults I just re-homed. I am not ready to start eating egg sales yet so waiting for the new ones to start laying will be fine.

Yes, you are much cooler than I am!

WOW look at that. Do you mind if I share these pictures on the Cream Legbar thread? With due credit of course.

To answer your question.... yep I'm sure you can! Not that I would be in the mood to text at the moment....

Those CL are just gorgeous!

Wondering if they lay better than Ameraucanas.

I'm just thinking I need to go the Super Blue Egg layers from Arkansas.

My Ameraucanas were lazy when it came to laying.
