Deb congrats. I love them Campines. Do you raise the Golden Lakenvelder as well?

No, I just have the silver, although the goldens would be easier to keep (no dirt/sunburn stains to worry about). But the goldens aren't recognized, it's hard enough to have a chance with the silvers as a fully recognized breed/variety.

Was the feed store guy from the Elverta Feed store? They raise their own.

No, they were coming up from down near Fresno. They just wanted one of my extra cockerels to throw into their breeding pen. Now I just need to decide for sure which I want. The one that went to the show was just the most mature.

Look who FINALLY gave it up.......................my first Isbar egg!

This picture actually shows the color better.

And the terror I felt today when I did my "egg walk". We were gone yesterday for the show, so no eggs were collected. This was an 8# lamb formula bucket, filled to the top with eggs. There were 18 campine eggs alone! The bucket weighed what felt like a ton!
