I'm going to a Serama tabletop show in Manteca. There's supposed to be 200+ of them there tomorrow. My other choice was an all-breed show in Bakersfield, but that was a 5 hour drive and two nights in a hotel. This is a one day show and only 3 hrs RT. Seemed like a much better option, even though three people wanted to buy birds at the other show. Although one managed anyway, a friend of his was driving through and just stopped to pick up Marans chicks.

I just spent a few hours bathing ten birds. But I can tell you bathing a one pound serama is nothing like man-handling a ten pound LF cock. Ten of those wears me OUT!
Sounds like a table top full of pure cuteness. I can't imagine trying to bath chickens.

The table top show sounds pretty cool! I know the guy that brought them into the states lives about an 1-1/2 hours away. I want to go to the national show this year.

So how do I get Cream Legbars!?!?!

WOW!

The UofA Blues will do the same thing. Leghorns LOL. I hatched two TJs leghorn pullets in the Fall and their second egg was 57G, just under large size!

It is why the Commercial egg laying crowd likes them so much.

I just remembered that you live in Hell!

Last summer some people had 50% of them die in the heat. They were one of the worst of mine in the heat last summer. They now live on the coast where it is cooler.

Some will tell you that they do well in the heat but there is a big difference between the occasional 100 degree day and Hell....
was just gonna say that. I do not have legbars but many people back east and around here lost them this summer.
Saw this on FB:

wheres Waldo
Been low 40s and dipping into the 30s. Tomorrow night have a freeze warning down into the 20s. Even though they came from Tennessee...the moisture in the air and my set up is different from what they are used too
75 today in the Valley

I have to tell you, Kelly is really getting unreliable lately. I asked her when my eggs were supposed to hatch and she said today. Well, nothing. So, I candled and they still have lots of blood in the veins. I am going to start marking the dates on my calendar.

After cleaning all of the coops and the pool and doing a two hour hike, I'm bushed.

I did love sitting in the backyard once the lawn was mowed and watching the girls in the run and then the juvies in the grow out pens. They love BREAD. They also got grass and broccoli leaves. I picked a bunch of broccoli and had it for lunch today YUM.

They actually like it. It's like being submerged in a nice hot tub. The only bird I have problems with is one polish cockerel. I've shown him three times now and I swear I have to do mouth to mouth on him every time. His head hangs like he's dead and his eyes roll closed. The first time it scared the cr@p out of me, I thought I killed him. The second two times, I gave him a little shake and he comes totally back to normal. He's the only bird I've ever seen react that way. I think he's been to his last show, none of my other polish act like that. Maybe it's because I was making fun of him at his last show. I just thought he looked like PeeWee Herman1

Quote: They really are fun. Instead of just putting your bird in a cage and walking away, it's very interactive. The birds are scored on their personality on the table, besides just their conformation.
