If it were Friday I would be eating popcorn and drinking tea. Instead I am eating an apple. Still drinking tea...That would make it a week day.

Happy Tuesday!

I am going to set my coops up for rain soon though.

I made a stink on the Ameraucana thread. If anyone reads it and agrees let em know lol. I am so tired of the mixed messages even the breeders send on the breed. Are non standard ameraucana easter eggers or non standard? There seems to be many opinions from breeders and it feeds the
hatchery fire , leads to unkowing breeders calling them ameraucana and people trying to scam.
if you read it and agree let them know.
well I am sure that is going to irritate some of them so for now .

Hatcheries actually used the term first. APA should have named their standard something else.

I now know why my natural red hair did not turn grey. It turned blonde instead. I am officially a dumb blonde now. For the second time this year (2013) I got lost and wasted 2 hours of time (besides gas). 124 extra miles I drove this time. God really has a sense of humor, I think. I really always wanted white or grey hair.

I got there at 5PM and got home at 10PM. He gave me extra chicks. I ended up with 60 Barred Rocks, 24 New Hampshires, and 6 turkeys! His very first turkeys of the year! Narragansett turkeys, and he said they will be around 40 pounds or he doesn't breed them.

Didn't get much for pictures. It was egg gathering time and chore time, so he really was rushed. AND, all the snow is melting (just like here) and it was a muddy muddy mess! I wish I had gotten more photos. His dogs! HUGE dogs! I don't know what kind they are but they are the thickest, biggest, scariest dogs I ever saw!

Frank is a super nice guy! Very hard working fella. He has these really cool old brooders that are just great and still work fine, so he uses them. I wish I had some! I like that they are on wire and the feed and water is outside of the cage! He has a gazillion incubators - big big cabinets. I dunno - thousands of eggs at a time is my guess.

Congratulations on the new birds and a Turkey!

Getting lost is why I bought a GPS last year. It has saved me several times since then.
