Stella's Social Club

You can have the rest of the lemon meringue pie Diva. It was a tiny one from the bakery anyway. I bought it and a lemon cream pie for my assignment this week. We have to photograph items that have been problematic for us to photograph in the past. Pies and meats have been my nemesis. I didn't want to have to bake and photograph so I took the easy way out.

I did make this reuben out of leftover corned beef from St. Paddy's Day though.

I had to cut the photo shoot short due to "technical" problems.

I love that pic of the dusting of snow! I can hear the silence. I love the silence of snow.

We are socked in with fog this morning and it is lovely.

I even found this on my front porch. Could you love a little dog more?

The pictures do exactly what they are supposed to do--make me want to make them and eat them.....

Oh, I almost forgot the best part of my day! I caught the egg eater and she is off to the feedstore tomorrow! There were four Isbar eggs in the nestboxes intact from yesterday and this in the Icelandic coop! This ought to turn the stomach of anyone considering eating pie right now.

Except me!

Oh, and this one's for you Diva!

Okay, to try my hand at critique. I love this shot, great DOF and I like the lighting and set up. My only negative, I find the tiny triangle of napkin in the corner distracting, and if I'm being REALLY picky, I'd have slid the fork forwards a bit so the tines don't poke up right behind the pie.

I even found this on my front porch. Could you love a little dog more?

You know what he's thinking....................Put down the d@mn camera and let me in!

I love this one, my favorite of the pie shots.

And I love this one, even though I detest Reuben sandwiches (rye bread, yuck....

......even though I do bake it for DH)

Good catch!

Quote: -2 this morning here. I feel like this winter is like the proverbial racing greyhound never being able to quite catch that rabbit. The forecast keeps showing warmer temps 3-4 days ahead and when we get to those days, well you guessed it, those warmer temps have moved another 3-4 days ahead again. We still have 3 feet of snow on the ground. If we keep at it, the ice will still be on the lakes for fishing opener the beginning of May.....At least that means no mosquitos!

Life is hard here in the Valley of the Sun... garden is growing like crazy!! I've been picking peas, cauliflower, broccoli and tomatoes. YUM! Corn, peas, squash and cucumbers are coming up gangbusters... Hopefully they be done by the first of June and then I can get the garden ready for planting the last week of August again.

CHICKS in just over a week!!!

Thinking about more lemon scones too, they were delicious!

I like this picture and the textures of all the props, but the pie looks too poofy. Not your fault, talk to the bakery.

This would have been my favorite shot, but the baby's breath hanging down in front of the pie is distracting to me. I love the light coming off the pie though.

I like the backgound out of focus - really draws the eye to the pie.

Fantastic picture and I want the cutting board. I don't like Rueben sandwiches, but this picture makes me want a bite.
