Last baby goat for the year..

Goats having fun on the rock pile..

Can you believe it is snowing here now??

Very cute!
Our first two of the year and an open yearling have left for their new homes. One in milk will leave mid-may then the rest of this years kids. We added a doeling from another farm, and if this other breeding produces a doe we'll get that. We also have retained one buckling.

RIP Chipmunk

She was a sweet girl that would fly up onto my arm for treats. One of my original hatchery girls. She died from internal laying yesterday at 4 years old.
ahh sorry Kelly

The baby goat pics are killing me! So cute.

Kathy, wow on the broodies.

Are they on eggs?

My broody was due to hatch today. So far 2 of the 8 eggs have hatched. One had half the egg stuck to it so I loosened that. The other is fluffed up and sitting right by momma.

Chipmunk looks so much like my original, top Hen, Rebecca. May they both find bugs aplenty in The Sunny Meadow over that Rainbow Bridge.

:hugs

I am lucky that my very first GrandChick, Samantha, is Rebecca's egg daughter and nearly her spitting image.

Sorry to hear about one of your fav's Kelly.

My EE that has similarities laid her first LARGE GREEN egg today.

100 degrees here today.

It's time to pour water on everything twice a day now until the end of June if you want it to stay alive.... after that it just cooks and dies.

I was supposed to go camping for my 55th on Saturday, but it looks like we'll be staying home and laying low.

DW informed me that I could never go away to go fishing for more than 24 hours... I have too many chickens to take care of.

I REALLY DO need a vacation. The office has just about slayed me the past 3 weeks. DS is trying to talk us into taking a week off to go with them to Western Illinois in July. Don't think it's gonna happen.

I'll be candling my broodie's six eggs on Thursday. I doubt even one of them will hatch.

Two weeks from today will be my 5th anniversary as a member of BYC. CRAZY!

My new babies arrived early. For once I had a positive experience with the PO. I just got them all settled in.

Story and (better) pictures tomorrow.
