Stella's Social Club

Don't worry Deb we have your back, and if you start feeling weak I'm sure you can call Mary at any time of day or night and she will drop everything to talk you thru your cravings.

Don't worry, Deb, Jason and the Macaw owner are going to help you out! Hatching and not keeping the chicks won't have any effect on your grow-out pens......you can do it!

I'm counting on it, I seriously need to curb the $2,000 a month feed bill (mind you this includes hay for the sheep/alpaca and dog food).

Two grand a month - geez louise - think of all the candy, brownies, cakes, cookies Nutella and ICE CREAM you could buy with that. Let the chickens eat bugs....

Yes, I've been thinking about this a LOT. I didn't retire to be chicken poor.

A HUGE reduction in chickens/sheep/alpaca would equal the freedom to do a lot. I'd have the money to spend on travel, and less of an anchor at home to prevent it. A couple of weeks ago when DH was gone for a week, I truly came to realize the magnitude of what we are heaping on a house sitter when we're gone.

No wonder the neighbors run when they see us coming with a trip planned.

There's not enough money in the world, you couldn't pay me to take on this job for someone else.

My DH was looking at the tally from the elevator for feed......

......I told him the meat birds are all is the freezer now and the cockerels from eggs I hatched this spring will be going to the auction this week.......I didn't tell him that still leaves "quite-a-few" that will need to go in order to get down to what is more manageable for my chicken sitter buddy. It is so hard to decide on who to keep.......
