Some animals are so hard on fences. Horses are bad too, although I think mules and donkeys are smarter about them. I had a very wise mustang cross mare that would not touch a fence or any wire (or even suspected wire) lying on the ground, for fear it was electric; on the other hand my pony and my friend's two Paints are so dumb they will still touch the electric fence at times - just checking I guess? Nothing like chasing your horses around the neighborhood at 3 am after they go right through 2 strands of hot wire (although I think there was a bear involved that time so maybe that was forgivable).
