My Grannie loved blue as well, although not to the extent of remodeling her bathroom fixtures. Makes me miss her to think of it.

Diva, sounds like that guy came from my BF's school of remodeling - he is and ironworker, and their motto is "if you can't make it fit you need a bigger hammer" (actually they say beater instead of hammer)

BACON!! Did you have to bring that up? As a matter of fact, Grannie loved bacon too - made her cornbread with bacon grease. Also smoked, drank daily, and lived 94 years.

Quote: It's going on the market any day now. My grandmother is in assisted living now, and she wants the house sold. All of my childhood memories are in that house, so it's really hard. It's a horrible house for a family as it's only 2 bedrooms, but if you like to entertain, it's certainly built for that!

The toilets before they were replaced were those squarish toilets that were really low to the ground and kind of looked like a bidet. I always felt like I was going to fall in when I sat on them. One was lime green and one was blue. The brown one is still in the downstairs bathroom.

My grandmother designed the house in the late 70's. The coolest feature is the cooktop in the kitchen. It looks like ceramic tiles instead of burners. You have to use stainless steel pots on it, but you can be boiling water on it, take the pot off the tile and touch the tile with very little heat. It works on electrical charge. She had to have it repaired a few years ago and had a really hard time finding someone that could work on it.

a few years ago i attempted to start a photo project of taking pictures of some of her old things, all colored blue of course (she passed away in 2008, & i miss her SO much) -- never got very far with it, but here's the "starter kit" if i ever get back to that project:

but seriously, their entire house was blue, inside and out. blue car, too.
That is so sweet. Honestly, if she loved it, she was entitled to it. It was her domain and her choices and whatever makes you feel good is what is right as far as color.
Yes, at least she knew what she liked!

There Mary goes again, putting bacon on something sweet. Bacon on cupcakes?? Now, if it's savory, it's a muffin, not a cupcake. Call it a muffin and we're good, Mary!

Seriously, whatever you photograph is gorgeous, even if I wouldn't eat it.

What is dilly tartare sauce? Tartare is raw something, right? What is the raw part in the sauce?

I love this shirt. Some of you will know why.

Now that is hilarious!

I had chocolate covered bacon at an event we went to last year. I didn't like it. Beautiful cupcake picture Mary! I'd try it...........once.

OK, tartare sauce is a typo. It is hard to see them when all you see on the screen is random gibberish. It was supposed to be tartar sauce. As for the cupcakes they are straight out of Classic Southern Recipes by A Taste of the South. That mean's it's gotta be right!

Well, there's the south, and then there's The South. No way my mama would have made those and called them cupcakes. Tom's family founded Georgia, came here to this continent in the 1600's, and his mama would have been completely confused by that recipe. Them is savory muffins, darlin', like corn muffins. Pretty yep, because you, Mary, can make anything look gorgeous. Anyone ever approached you to do photos for a cookbook or magazine?

What could ya use in place of bourbon?

I love the look of those cupcakes and the recipe sounds delicious, too!

I saw a "poster," the other day on facebook. It said:
I am trying to eat healthy and grow my own food, but I can't find bacon seeds.
