Here's another cute find from today. I thought it was just a stamped fake mini feed bag. It is about 12"x9". I researched it online and it is an actual bag for an omega 3 feed supplement made in Oregon. I am going to get all crafty and buy a vintage frame and put chicken wire across the back then mount this bag on it.
That is so very cool an idea, Mary! Today one of the regulars at The Pub brought me a pristine, clean baseball cap from Chicken, Alaska. It has a chicken silhouette on it. He gave me instructions how to form it for a nicer look than just a plain baseball cap shape. Wet it (dunk in clean water until soaked) then place it over a coffee can, with a clean dishcloth under cap but over the metal - or plastic - container, another over the top of the wet cap, then something heavy on top. Drying that way will take the poofy crown down to the coooool, flatter top shape. He already formed the bill into a sharper curve for me. Yeah. A baseball cap. Not something I would normally wear, but I never knew how to shape them, before. Hats of most types look goofy on me.

Amazing find on the table and chairs!!! And I can't wait to see your picture when you get the bag frame finished- sounds very cute!

Deb, or anybody else that might know, what are these?

I thought they were candy molds but the tag from the seller says "mini tart pans." That is the miniest tart pan I have ever seen. I put a quarter in the picture for reference.

Mary, They are mini tart pans. Lots of work! I hope you get some much needed rest. Get well soon.

Yikes, there's not much room for filling after you add the crust. But I am going to try them out. Maybe right now. I have some Pillsbury crust and I can fill them with something,

Thanks!

I was thinking jello molds.

I tried them as tart pans last night. I put in crust then some caramel dipping sauce and a pecan on top. The caramel sauce bubbled out and the crusts never baked because I had to pull them out of the oven, of course Michael loved them. Sugar and dough, go figure!

Maybe I'll try baking the crust first then filling with jam or creamy filling that doesn't need to be baked.

It was a fun mess anyway.

I am Jonesing for Michael to get up early today to go pick up the table and chairs. I decided to move my hutch from the parlor into the dining room and get something else with more of a curio look for that space. I am going to empty it out now and see if I can make enough noise to wake him up.

Do any of you locals know where the cheapest place to buy pumpkins is arounf here> I want to put them up my steps and Michael wants to create a flase bottom in the wagon and make it look like it's loaded. Then we'll have a skeleton with a cowboy hat sitting in front. The pumpkin patch just down the road from me on 49 is pretty expensive.

Somehow I get the feeling that Mary's idea of resting is a bit speedier then most of ours.

Neat tart pans, just right for a pan of tarty snacks.

'TheotherMarys' youngsters have settled right in beautifully, I am as pleased with them as can be.

In the spring I will have 3 breeding groups, one with Isi and his older girls, and I will be setting some of their eggs, plus two other groups with the two new roosters and half a dozen apiece, of this years pullets split between them and the pullets from Mary also. A lot more pen building next year for growouts.

I am going to keep these all off the ground, at least until after I can get the certification testing done. I think that has to be the best way to go.

Wish we were closer mary, pumpkins are from $1-3 ea at the farm here. There are literally tons of them around. Great cattle feed. Most all go to waste.

I love it just broke open, cleaned out, buttered and baked. Great !

Could those be soap molds? That's what came to mind when I saw them.

We aren't grandfathered as an Ag zone. MY house was built in the 1800's. This property was once an 110,000 acre parcel that owned all the land around it including the slum now known as XXXXXXXXXX. The zoning was changed to R1 over there to accommodate the slum. All the cheap rental houses in there are used as non-occupied grow houses, so maybe they can get their zoning changed to agricultural!

Hmm I though R1A was residental 1 acre lots or less. We have some R1A R2A R3A Around us. I am not that super up on them though
