Stella's Social Club

Glad you had a great time, Mary! As for moi, I will NEVER go ANYWHERE in an RV, not EVER! Not after living in one for 4 months, no WAY!

Oooh Cyn, I'll have to check it out. I've been on your site several times in the last few days. I've been shopping for some handmade soaps, scarves and was fascinated by the fire/flint kit.

Cool! Thanks for looking!

Omigosh, look what I did! I designed and sewed curtains, and without a pattern! ME! I can't believe it.

Beautiful Cyn! I went to a fabric store to try to find fabric to recover my dining room chairs. I was looking through all the beautiful fabric thinking, geez I wish I could sew!

Can I make a suggestion on an item in your store? Have you thought of doing quilted pot holders? I was thinking of that the other day and thought they would be really pretty.

They look great, I never seem to find time to sew other than some alterations and hemming. I really need to put my new sewing machine through it's paces and give it a real workout. In the last couple of years, I've gotten about six gift cards from Joann's Fabrics, so I have about $150 of available credit with them.

I don't sew, never have. Couldn't learn, no interest. I quilt, which is not sewing, really, it's fabric art to me. I'd be buying yarn at JoAnn if it was me, lol.

I do have the mug mats, which, larger and with thermal batting rather than regular, would be pot holders, and I have done them with a round of hand quilting added a couple of times. I can add some quilting to it, but honestly, I hand quilt, so I won't have a large number of quilted items in the store. They take too much time and my hands hurt too much when I try to turn out lots of quilted stuff. It's a good suggestion, though!. Hand quilted potholders might be cost prohibitive. If I could do them by machine, it would be different, but I have never been able to figure it out. Seems really difficult to me. I don't have any control with a machine.

Have you seen the crocheted potholders/hotpads? Those are super great with a double thickness. I use them here all the time.

These mug mats with thermal batting in a larger size are nice potholders:

I once did sets of these for my friend, Ellie, and Ladyhawk to go with a tablecloth I made for her, but they are very time consuming and would be much more pricey than the mug mats I make.
