i didn't candle after day 10 or so, but there are seven isbar eggs in the incubator, plus 11 marans -- so far two marans are out, one is either black or blue and the other is a duckwing -- and one of the two isbars that have moved seems to be starting to unzip now!
Oh and can't forget the obligatory cute Halloween photos, and pics of the new house!!!
Front of house. The center "original" part is crawlspace with the living room, two bedrooms, and two full bathrooms. On the left there are steps down to a slab that has the kitchen, laundry room, and a bedroom (I think this used to be a garage). On the right is a step down to a slab with the largest bedroom and the family room.
Not really sure we can salvage anything of the barn, maybe the corner posts which are old telephone poles. It's pretty far gone.
Back of the house. You can see the old well house to the left, and the hill that moves off screen on the left is where the below ground storm shelter is (very important in Tornado Alley). Storm shelter needs a door, otherwise it's good. The well house needs major repairs if we are to use it for storage.
Living room during ceiling repairs (they are done now). Sure glad it happened BEFORE we moved in. There were two cracked ceiling joists when they got up into the sheetrock!!!
Fireplace in living room, and steps down to the right end of the house.
1st Bath- this room is between the two bedrooms we are going to put the kids in. I find the wallpaper hideous. It has a bathtub with those icky 4 inch white tiles all the way to the ceiling.
This is the other bathroom, it is much larger and has a glass enclosure shower stall. It is off the hallway between the living room and the kitchen.
The kitchen- from the living room hallway
Standing in the kitchen looking to the dining area (which I HATE- we are a family of 6, fitting a table in there is going to be tricky).
Standing in the dining area looking to the kitchen. I love everything except the wine rack. Haha us Mormons are dry- no alcoholic beverages for us so it's a waste of space. Will be ripping it out soon! Oh and I hate the knife drawer- you know, it has slots to put sharp knives in. Yeah, not happening with ages 8, 6, 4, and 2 in the house.
A few pics of the property and pond:
This is standing in the drive area near the house looking back into the property. The "barn" is in the left of the photo behind the trees.
Standing just inside the gate, this is the cleared area between the house and the creek. Pond is in the center of the photo where the closer trees are.
The pond.
Near the creek, which although dry right now has a 6 ft drop in places, so I know in the spring it gets some major water flow. Behind the creek is partially cleared but mostly wooded, about 2 acres.
